The Potchefstroom College of agriculture was established as an agricultural school in 1909 but has deteriorated badly in the past decade and is currently in a dire and dilapidated state.
Students and alumni complain that the maintenance of the buildings and grounds has fallen so far behind that it makes the environment unsafe. There is no trace of the once-proud institution that trained top farmers and agricultural technical advisers.
Photos and reports of animals being emaciated due to poor and malnutrition, appalling kraals, rubbish dumped in the grazing and animal welfare practices that will make the SPCA gasp for breath support the students and alumni complaints
The Potchefstroom Agricultural College alumni association was established to add their voice to the change at the college and to take the lead in making the college a proud agricultural institution.
